Meet Verania Gamez
Certified Spanish Teacher

My name is Lineth Verania Gamez, and I am from the picturesque town of San Juan de la Concepción (La Concha) in Masaya, Nicaragua.

I have been teaching Spanish for over 12 years, and I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their language learning goals. Over the years, I have connected with each of my students, making my teaching experiences fulfilling.

I have the experience and ability to work with students who are at every level including beginner, intermediate and advanced. My teaching methods change with the level.  For beginner levels, I like to use interactive methods such as visual, oral, and written practices, along with helpful materials such as books, flashcards, and the visual environment in which the students are learning. Assigning tasks (yes, homework) is also a critical aspect of the learning process.

For beginners, I believe that a more immersive experience is beneficial.  In this regard, our lessons are mostly in Spanish with very little English spoken.  For some beginners, this can be overwhelming and I simply suggest that you relax and try to have fun with the process!

I encourage my students to feel confident in expressing themselves, sharing their knowledge and asking questions. I believe that mistakes are an essential part of the learning process, and my motto is "you learn from mistakes."

Although learning a new language can challenging, the process should be fun and we do our best to make the classes interesting and informative.  While I am here to help, individual practice and study are important to advancing your Spanish speaking abilities.  Consistency is key to building and adding to your base and as we say here, "poco a poco" or little by little you will continue to improve.

While I am happy to teach you in person, the beauty of learning online means that your location does not matter.  I have students from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and, in one case, I had a student taking Spanish from his temporary location in Spain.

I invite you to join the Learn Spanish With Verania family and explore the wonderful world of the Spanish language. I am confident that you will not regret it.

Sincerely, Verania Gamez, Spanish Teacher

  Spanish Like A Local

Wikipedia reports that Spanish is the official language of 20 countries and is spoken by nearly 500 million people. It is the fourth most spoken language in the world.  While grammar, vocabulary and phrases will be somewhat different depending on where your Spanish takes you, we believe the being able to speak even a little bit of Spanish will be a tremendous gateway into learning about the culture of a country.

In this regard, we are very proud of the diverse beauty of Nicaragua and culture, politics, history, religion, food and other aspects life in Nicaragua are common topics of conversation in our classes.  Not only will you learn Spanish, we hope that you will gain a deep understanding and appreciation for Nicaragua and Latin America as well.
